Celia Vela at 080 Barcelona Fashion
Banyuls, 2, Baixos
We had the pleasure of attending the Celia Vela show “…y un vestido esmeralda”, at 080 Barcelona yesterday – one of the key fashion events in Barcelona, showcasing some of the best design talent in the city. This edition was superbly staged at Palau de Pedralbes and served as a magical backdrop for the catwalk that was centered around the fountain. The marquees were brimmed with Catalan press, the fashion pack and up and coming designers so the musing around the gardens was of course inspirational.
Celia Vela references classic pieces with quirky twists, this can be seen with the green taffeta, appliquéd fabrics, structured cropped jackets and more. The theme of the collection is based on an emerald dress and features the use of emerald green accompanied by rich colors such as deep burgundy’s and blues.
A beautiful balance lies between night and day, classic and innovative and opaqueness with transparency all in the form of lingeries pieces, swimwear, cocktail dresses and formal jackets.
