Networking time at Mobile World Congress 2013
Those that live in the city know just how much of an exciting technology hub Barcelona is. Not only is the city home to sun, sea and sand, it is also a leading place when it comes to technological innovation and start-ups. It is then no wonder that the Mobile World Congress, the world’s largest exhibition hosts it’s feria here, from the 25th to the 28th February. With many people in possession of a smartphone and mobile ownership having room to grow in even emerging countries, it is fair to say that this event is extremely significant and will not disappoint. This week the BBC reported about the first Firefox mobile, this is one trend that will continue to surge.
This is how record breaking Mobile World Congress 2012 looked performed:
– Highest attendance: more than 67,000 attendees
– Highest C-Level attendance: more than 38,000 C-Level leaders
– Highest number of CEOs in attendance: more than 3,500
– Largest-ever number of exhibitors: Nearly 1,500 exhibitors utilising 70,500 net square metres of exhibition and business meeting space
– Largest-ever number of press: 3,300+ press members representing 1,500 media outlets from 92 countries
Mobile has been and will continue to change the world and the way in which we consume and communicate. It is inevitable that we are heading in the direction of a world that will be heavily assistend by mobile, look at Siri! Barcelona is proving to be the center of where such key changes are being developed and experienced, making it a very exciting city, contributing to the changing mobile landscape.
