It can all be a little overwhelming, the city may not be huge but the culture, activities, events, eateries etc. is vast. So we have taken it upon ourselves to amalgamate our local 12 years experience in the city via our blog. Whether you are planning on coming over for the festivals, want to find out vegan eats or general insider information, we will keep you in the loop.
Get reacquainted with your arty self at Bar Pastís
We aren’t going to pretend, this unpretentious bar is situated in the unearthed Raval. Be prepared to bat an eyelid or two as it is rather underground and surrounded by more than just the locals. The bar is like a relic in itself, established in 1947 and doesn’t seem like much has changed as the decor exudes the prior years – mixed vintage photos, dolls, red curtains.
The bar was set up by French music lovers and most definitely has an arty presence. This was the place for creative types to drink absinth or pastis and indulge in a manner of all deep rooted discussions. We often come here when we have some “real talk” to conduct and need a quiet spot for private conversations. Famed for intimate live concerts, Edith Piaf and French accordion music, this is a really cool bar to visit in Barcelona.
