Today, the discovery of Egyptian pharoah Tutankhamun’s tomb in the Valley of the Kings in 1922 continues to captivate many. Exhibition, Tutankhamun – history of a discovery at the Egyptian Museum of Barcelona takes us back to the actual discovery of Tutankhamun and the working methods that followed the find. In addition to this are references to the professionals involved such as Howard Carter and George Herbert, and 5th Earl of Carnarvon and the huge impact the whole event had on the media industry itself.
The cause of death and other concerns, such as the exact whereabouts of the findings are just some of the things that have been well documented under the glare of the media, triggering a new interest in ancient Egypt at that time. A significant number of pieces of the museum will illustrate certain aspects of the environment of the child king and wide variety of objects which the Egyptians used in their tombs.
