It can all be a little overwhelming, the city may not be huge but the culture, activities, events, eateries etc. is vast. So we have taken it upon ourselves to amalgamate our local 12 years experience in the city via our blog. Whether you are planning on coming over for the festivals, want to find out vegan eats or general insider information, we will keep you in the loop.
Walk among the dead this Halloween
If you aren’t scared of the dark and wouldn’t mind delving into some history, visit the cemetery of Poblenou on the 30th October for a historical walk through the first cemetery in the city and learn about the history of Barcelona from 1775 until the conclusion of the Exposition of the 1888 and the last years of the nineteenth century. Yes, it gets that deep!
The route starts historically from when Bishop Clement blessed the new burial grounds in 1775, and concludes with the Universal Exposition. Expect to see 29 marked graves – one for the tombstone lovers. The walk unlocks more than just spirits, with a deep exploration of the development of technology, culture and moral values, thus a whole new set of ideologies. One way to spend halloween!
