It can all be a little overwhelming, the city may not be huge but the culture, activities, events, eateries etc. is vast. So we have taken it upon ourselves to amalgamate our local 12 years experience in the city via our blog. Whether you are planning on coming over for the festivals, want to find out vegan eats or general insider information, we will keep you in the loop.
Pop Up Design Market at Fabrica Moritz
Ronda de Sant Antoni, 39
0034 934 260050
We recently recommended Formista, a design store and gallery perfect for gifts if you are still snapping up some goodies for Christmas. Another place that we have to mention is Market Design 2013, with the second edition being held in the Factory Mortiz. The collaboration of ADI – FAD (Association of Industrial Design Promotion of Arts and Design), diarioDESIGN (online magazine about design and architecture) and Moritz (beer factory, fully restored by French architect Jean Nouvel) has given the go ahead for the flea market for the design obsessed to take place in the lead up to Christmas.
Why go? Well expect to find designer objects such as lamps, toys, clothes, cooking utensils and more, with all encompassing a high-end design quality and from local young designers or start-ups. Everything that can be found in the Design Market is from author, which does not have to mean that it will be expensive, because you can find gifts for only 5 €. This edition includes more exhibitors and conduct workshops and side events. The market runs from the 21 to 24 December, and worth visiting if you want to give a more unique gift, or simply need to stock up yourself!
