Barcelona Blog

It can all be a little overwhelming, the city may not be huge but the culture, activities, events, eateries etc. is vast. So we have taken it upon ourselves to amalgamate our local 12 years experience in the city via our blog. Whether you are planning on coming over for the festivals, want to find out vegan eats or general insider information, we will keep you in the loop.

Jaime Beriestain – new concept store and café

Jaime Beriestain
Carrer Pau Claris 167
08037 Barcelona

Barcelona’s Jaime Beriestain is not your ordinary concept store and cafe, in fact, it is rather exciting as there is nothing else remotely like it. Imagine buying yourself some new design items for your pad, fresh flowers from the floristeria, flown in from Holland and then stopping by for lunch before heading back out. This is exactly what you can do here. The café / restaurant offers breakfast, brunch and dinner.

For those that think that this is just a space that someone has leant their name to, wrong! Beriestain is a leading industrial and interior designer on the scene in Spain, hence the excitement. With a worthy spot on Pau Claris, we can all shop a piece of the 500m2 store where you can find goodies such as vintage furniture, objects, international books, fragrances and more. The space has been treated as if it was Beriestain’s home, with the restaurant cooly acting as if you are sitting among friends at an invited dinner affair – a very sophisticated one.

Beriestain assisted in devising the menu, which showcases some dishes from his native Chile or meals that he would normally serve to friends.  Expect to be greeted by 2 beautiful large Italian chandeliers from the 60’s, that take centre stage and look sublime in contrast to the flooring. Oh and let us not forget the incredible works of art, only from Beriestain’s private collection. They include works from Peter Halley, Fernando Prats and José-María Mellado. Our advice, visit whilst in Barcelona!
