Post-Picasso – Contemporary Reactions exhibition
Ever wondered about the responses of contemporary artists to the life and work of Pablo Picasso himself? What they really think and feel about the works of Picasso? If so, this exhibition is for you, as it examine s these very responses, some of which are somewhat controversial.
Curated by the acclaimed Dr Michael FitzGerald, the way in which Picasso is an influential figure and omitting contributor to contemporary art is explored, in addition to reinterpretations of the meanings of his key works are explored with 58 exhibits showcased.
If you are visiting Barcelona it is a worthy exhibition and if you’re a local living here it is a great excuse to head back. Don’t forget that this month you can visit the museum for free on Thursday nights from 19.30 to 21.30 – take advantage! In short, this is an eclectic exhibition well worth us back to this great museum.
This exhibition presents the work of 41 artists from around the world: Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, North America and South America – reflecting the diversity and the legacy that Picasso has left. On until the 29 June.
