Barcelona Blog

It can all be a little overwhelming, the city may not be huge but the culture, activities, events, eateries etc. is vast. So we have taken it upon ourselves to amalgamate our local 12 years experience in the city via our blog. Whether you are planning on coming over for the festivals, want to find out vegan eats or general insider information, we will keep you in the loop.

Lip-smackingly good!

Barcelona Insider: SomeSeeds

There is one thing that is very evident about Bobbie behind SomeSeeds website – she loves her food and she sure is active on the foodie circuit. Hailed from London, Bobbie started her food website based in Barcelona, as gastronomy seems to be very much at the forefront of her day and she enjoys eating out and trying new places. We caught up to find out more about these seeds and where we should be eating out.

How long have you lived in Barcelona?
We moved to Barcelona in 2004

How did your website SomeSeeds come about?
In August 2013 I had a Eureka moment when I realised that I wasn’t exploring the two things that are close to my heart.  Food and Barcelona.  The name someseeds came from something my dad always used to say to me and my siblings when we were kids. When he wanted to inspire us with some knowledge and for us to think about it, he’d say “I’m just planting a seed”.

Where does your love for food and cooking come from?
From the sheer delight I get every time I experience gorgeous food. It stays with me. Then when I have time I will try to recreate the dish, A-La Bobbie.

What is your all time favourite dish?
I don’t have one, maybe because cooking is so artful and flavour combinations change constantly therefore what was my favourite dish yesterday will be different tomorrow. However my favourite cuisine is food from Asia, hands down.

Which restaurants/cafes/bars are your favourite when you feel like international food?
Rangoli for Indian food, Sesamo for vegetarian food & Kibuka Japanese and Caravelle for tacos.

Favourite restaurant
Kibuka. The menu and the quality of the food is very good.

What restaurants are currently on your list to visit?
By13- Japanese tapas  41 degrees for the experience, Tanta, Peruvian cuisine & Chiringuito Salt

Best place to eat beach side?
Kaiku -Barceloneta

Why Barcelona?
There is never a dull moment in Barcelona, never.  It´s beaming with things to do and see 24/7.  Also there is a little bit of home for everyone.  City life, the sea, mountains, lush green parks and of course, outstanding cuisine.

If food and Barcelona are very much your two loves, we have central Barcelona apartments suitable for exploring both!
