When we heard that a new “straight-friendly” bar was opening in Gayxample by none other than the super duo behind the successful cafe Federal and candy store Papabubble, we had to check it out. Specifically targeted as an after-work bar, we were keen to see what all the fuss was about, particularly after it’s busy inauguration. Upon entry, you know you are entering a different world with the creative retro sports theme used throughout the space – with the ping pong rackets decorating the walls and skipping ropes draped opposite the bar.
El Petit Bangkok is a cute restaurant nestled in the tiny streets near Plaza Molina, offering authentic Thai cuisine. The owner is Catalan and his wife is Thai and they welcome you in to a beautiful establishment with colourful lampshades, photos, bird and floral wallpaper and decadent fixtures.Originally set up as a cafe, due to public demand they decided to expand and operate as a restaurant.
There is something to be said about cupcakes, most commonly associated with New Yorkers, after the famous sitcom Sex and the City glamorized Bleecker Street’s Magnolia’s Bakery. Then there is London, which hosts the ever so popular Hummingbird bakery and for those that might not know, Barcelona has its very own haunt for cupcake junkies in the name of Cup and Cake Barcelona.
