Reial - Liberating and stylish with an endless panorama view

About Reial

A liberating and stylish 120 sq meter (1200 sq feet)1 bedroom / 2 bathrooms, bright and spacious duplex penthouse, with an endless panorama view.
This loft like space is beautified by whites and earth-like colors and modern design furniture classics complemented with North African artifacts. Wide windows along the east side of the building where the sun rises, offer great views over the gothic quarter and the old harbor.
The staircase, a central sculptural element in the middle of the space, leads to the upper floor of the apartment. Upstairs, the bedroom - an assured noise free zone thanks to the double glass windows, with a mirrored panoramic window, en-suite bath room with rain shower and a 40 m2 (430 sq. ft) deck terrace with 360 degrees views well above the city, provide the highlight of the apartment.
Coming home after exploring the city is a rewarding experience since the entire setting is geared towards relaxation and disconnection from what happens down on the street. The apartment's proximity to the Boqueria market means one can pop out for the freshest fish and produce and be back in minutes to prepare a delicious meal in the fully-equipped kitchen.
A truly mediterranean experience.

The setting of the Reial penthouse is as central as possible; right on Plaza Reial, with its palm trees and fountains in the heart of the Gothic Quarter. Barri Gothic is the oldest part of the city. The area, which dates back to medieval times, oozes character and charm. This is that historical center of town that has made Barcelona so passionately loved by travellers in recent years. You are surrounded by that famous mix of history and a modern, artistic and cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Notable historic monuments include the Church of our Lady Mercè, the Cathedral La Seu with its lively plaça, and Barcelona's oldest neighbourhood, the forgotten Jewish quarter "Del Call," all of which combine to create a rich and varied architectural tapestry.

The apartment oversees most of the old city centre, and is less than a stone throw away from the colourful Ramblas, famous for its street artists and flower stalls, the Liceu opera house and Europe's largest covered market, El Mercat de la Boqueria.

Behind the market, you’ll find the area of Raval with colourful bars, quirky shops and galleries as well as the modern art museum, MACBA, its adjoining cultural center CCCBand the newly-restored Palau Güell.

It is a short stroll to the old harbour with the Columbus statue and the former fishermen’s area La Barceloneta alongside the beach, home to a bounty of delicious fresh seafood restaurants.
On the right side of Barri Gothic you’ll find the stylish El Born district offering fashionable shopping, fine restaurants and hip bars for late nights out.

Walking up Las Ramblas for about 10 minutes, you will find yourself at Plaça Catalunya, a central point in the city and excellent for transportation.
From Placa Catalunya, you can walk up Passeig de Gracia, the central avenue of the Eixample district. Fitting with the grandeur of the buildings and the majestic fountain in the middle, this street hosts some of the most exclusive shops in the city such as Chanel, Carolina Herrera, Loewe, beautifully juxtaposed amongst some of Gaudi’s architectural gems.

As locals we regularly eat out in the city, so we thought we'd share our list of bars, cafes and restaurants. We have visited them all! Download list.
