Room No.1

Room No.1 here with us at DestinationBCN offers superior comfort, designer details and all the finishing touches you would expect, cleverly arranged in a compact space in the very heart of central Barcelona.

Whether you’re a digital nomad, here on business in the city or already have friends that live here and require a place to sleep, our design-led room won’t disappoint. When space isn’t the highest consideration on your checklist when booking a place in Barcelona, this room is a great option.

The 13sqm single room is graced with original mosaic flooring, elegantly juxtaposed with the restored original doors that take you to the balcony with a street view. The anxious monkey print featured, is by designer Pierre Charpin and we are convinced the monkey is anxious about having to check-out of the room.

As we value the sleep of our guests, we have a queensize Swissflex bed to ensure you are comfy and have a good night’s sleep. Behind the curtain, you can slide the translucent glass doors to reveal an en-suite bathroom, fully kitted with a rain shower and Malin+Goetz products for guests to enjoy. We even have some of their modern apothecary products for you to purchase if you grow to love them during your stay.

This is in addition to coffee from the Nespresso machine or tea made available. If you require more to eat or drink you can take advantage of the locally sourced goodies in the minibar and handmade baskets.

You’ll be tempted to share the room (we get it), however, this room is for single use only.
The room is located in a building very close to the University of Barcelona and Plaça Catalunya.

Location

Room #1 is situated just by the popular and vibrant areas of Eixample, Gothic, Raval and Ramblas.

Turn left from the building and you will find yourself at Plaça Catalunya, a central point in the city and excellent for transportation.
Just a minute’s walk west from the apartment is the Passeig de Gracia, the central avenue of the Eixample district. Fitting with the grandeur of the buildings and the majestic fountain in the middle, this street hosts some of the most exclusive shops in the city such as Chanel, Carolina Herrera, Loewe, beautifully juxtaposed amongst some of Gaudi’s architectural gems.

Turning right from your front door, you’ll find the lively Placa Universitat with the University of Barcelona, designed by the architect Elies Rogent in a style based on Catalan Romanesque.
Behind the university you’ll find Gayxample, the gay district set in the elegant Eixample area, where you can find nightclubs, shops, bars and restaurants lilt the streets, perfect for those seeking an eclectic crowd.

A stroll down of the apartment brings you to the Barri Gòtic, the oldest part of the city, famous among others for its many cathedrals. The area, which dates back to medieval times, oozes character and charm. In the narrow, winding streets you come across many boutiques and trendy bars. Central to the area is Las Ramblas, the connected series of streets famous for its street artists and flower stalls and if you walk down La Rambla, you pass La Boqueria, by far the city’s best indoor food market. Definitely worth a visit.

Also down from the apartment is el Raval, an up and coming area where you will find not only the MACBA museum for contemporary art but also many galleries, boutiques, restaurants and bars. And, just to get you in the mood: if you walk from your apartment to the MACBA museum you come across Plaça Vicenç Martorell, a square with some great bars for breakfast and lunch.

Another interesting district next door is the Sant Antoni part of Eixample where you will find the less tourist Mercat de Sant Antoni food market. This area has recently reinvented itself as the place to go for excellent restaurants.
